(Buffalo, NY) –  Trotters participating in the 127th Annual YMCA Turkey Trot can begin to pick up their pre-race packets on Monday, November 21 at the Independent Health Family YMCA, located at 150 Tech Drive in Amherst.

Participants in the annual trot are encouraged to pick up their packets Monday through Wednesday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Race Day packet pickup is also available from 7:00 to 8:30 am at the Delaware Family YMCA located at 2564 Delaware Avenue in Buffalo. Race participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to support the YMCA’s annual food drive with FeedMore WNY.

Buffalo’s time-honored Thanksgiving Day tradition, the YMCA Turkey Trot, kicks off at 9:00 am sharp Thanksgiving morning, November 24 at the corner of Delaware and Tacoma Avenues in North Buffalo.

The race course attracts over 14,000 participants and spectators along Delaware Avenue and the streets surrounding the Buffalo Convention Center downtown. For the safety of all participants we encourage motorists to avoid the race course completely. Motorists will not be allowed to cut through the race course to enter or exit any side streets that the route follows while runners are passing by.

Traffic will be restricted Thanksgiving morning on:

  • Delaware Ave. from Hertel Ave. to Comet Ave. between 4:30 am and 10:00 am
  • Franklin St. from Court St. to Mohawk St. from 4:30 am to 12:00 pm
  • Pearl St. between West Huron St. and Court St. (both ways) from 4:30 am to 12:00 pm

The Turkey Trot is YMCA Buffalo Niagara’s largest fundraising event. Proceeds raised support YMCA programs that empower youth, improve community health, and ensure access for all.
