We hope the new year finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. Here's a quick look at what's happening across YMCA Buffalo Niagara.
A Message From President & CEO John Ehrbar Happy New Year! Like most of you, I’m happy to put 2021 in the rear view mirror and look towards the future. Over the past several months, I’ve been working with our leadership staff and Board of Directors to discuss future possibilities for our Y. I’m excited to share that we have identified four key strategic priorities to drive our efforts over the next few years:
In addition to continuing to run our high quality programs, our focus on these strategic priorities will help us further transform our communities and create lasting, positive impact on more lives for years to come. I invite you to review the Strategic Plan Summary to gain a clear picture of our direction and to see how you can play a role in moving our Y forward. As always, thank you for sharing your talents with the Y & and I look forward to seeing your work in action in 2022!
People on the Move Please join us as we welcome and congratulate the following team members who were either recently promoted or are new to YMCA Buffalo Niagara. Promotions
New Management Staff
Employee Spotlight Trevor Dehn: Member Service Representative This month we would like to recognize Trevor Dehn, a member service representative at the Independent Health Family YMCA. Trevor is a dedicated Y employee who has served in many roles throughout the facility including membership, child watch, admin clerk, fitness classes, and family events. He has been a crucial part of our membership team, always welcoming and kind with members, and helps to build a positive culture within the facility. Trevor has served alongside our administrative staff, creating key processes and assisting with tasks necessary to keep programs running smoothly and efficiently. Trevor continues to build relationships with all staff and members he comes into contact with every day. His ability to live out the Y mission has been essential to the Independent Health Family YMCA and we look forward to his continued dedication to serving the members at our facility.
Our Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: Gender Equity Spotlight YMCA Buffalo Niagara is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Last month, we hosted a five-day series which educated the community about the ongoing inequities across the globe, in the United States, and even right here in Buffalo. The Gender Equity Spotlight featured prominent local women and LGBTQ+ advocates who spoke about the ongoing inequities in our society. One takeaway from the spotlight was the need for society to recognize the issue still persists despite years of progress. Gender inequities cannot be solved in one week, but our discussion of the issue helped us take the important next step!
