(Buffalo, NY) – As part of its commitment to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, YMCA Buffalo Niagara is thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023-2024 YMCA Teen Leaders Program in the City of Buffalo. This daily program will help city teens reach their full potential through academics, sports, and volunteerism while building meaningful connections within the community through various leadership activities.

Beginning in late-July and running through June 2024, the YMCA Teen Leaders Program will take place daily at the William-Emslie YMCA from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. The Teen Leaders Program will see local youth participate in academic activities, sports and physical fitness, and volunteer opportunities in the community.

“We know that when kids regularly participate in YMCA programs, it fosters a sense of purpose and belonging,” Anthony Gibney, William-Emslie YMCA Executive Director, said. “Our Teen Leaders Program is a fantastic way for Buffalo youth to stay active and engaged in the community. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our community through vital programs like this.”

Registration is required for teens who wish to participate in the program. There is no cost for the YMCA Teen Leaders Program and all teens who participate will get a free YMCA membership for the duration of the program. Teens who wish to participate may register by emailing Anthony Gibney, Executive Director of the William-Emslie YMCA at [email protected]
