Our number one priority is to provide a safe and fun experience for everyone. We are counting on all involved to help us adhere to local, state, and federal COVID-19 guidelines and ensure the continuance of our annual Thanksgiving Day tradition. Based on current conditions, the following procedures are being put in place:

Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up & Runners Expo

Independent Health Family YMCA – 150 Tech Drive, Amherst 14221
November 22-24 • 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

  • Masks must be worn by all people while inside the Independent Health Family YMCA
  • Practice social distancing and use hand sanitizer stations.
  • Race participants 21 years of age and older will receive a wristband with their race packets. 
    • Anyone planning to attend the Convention Center post-race party MUST show their wristband to gain entry. NO EXCEPTIONS.
    • Replacements will not be available on race day for anyone who has lost or forgotten their wristband.

Race Day Packet Pick-Up

Delaware Family YMCA – 2564 Delaware Avenue
November 25 • 7:00 – 8:30 am

  • There will be NO PUBLIC ACCESS to the Delaware Family YMCA on race day except for anyone needing last minute packet-pick up (7:00 to 8:45 am). 
  • Masks must be worn while inside the Delaware Family YMCA, per Erie County masking requirements. 
  • It is strongly recommended that you, or a friend or family member pick-up your packet prior to race day.

Busing

  • There will be limited bus service available between the Convention Center and the Target Plaza on Delaware Avenue. Please consider ride sharing for traveling to and from the start and finish lines. 
  • Masks are required on the bus regardless of vaccination status. 

On the Race Course

  • Masks are not required on the race course for those who are vaccinated but should be worn by those who are immuno-compromised or unvaccinated.
  • Practice social distancing whenever possible.
  • It is highly recommended that any runner who wishes to participate in the post-race party carry their ID and mask with them during the race.

Virtual Race

  • For anyone planning to register for the virtual race and have your t-shirt shipped: Packet delivery for shipping requests received after November 10 cannot be guaranteed in time for race day. 

Post-Race Party

  • Masks are required at both the Convention Center and Statler City regardless of vaccination status.
  • The Convention Center party is limited to race participants AGE 21 & UP.
  • Proof of ID is required for entry to the beer area.
  • Race participants 21 years of age and older will receive a wristband with their race packets. 
    • Anyone planning to attend the Convention Center party MUST show their wristband to gain entry. NO EXCEPTIONS.
    • Replacements will not be available on race day for anyone who has lost or forgotten their wristband.
  • Water and refreshments are available for families and those under the age of 21 at the alcohol-free Family Area at Statler City.

Awards

  • Overall & Masters Awards will be presented at the Convention Center.
  • Team and individual age group awards will be mailed directly to winners in early December.

Keep in mind, these guidelines are subject to change. Any changes will be communicated in a timely manner on this page, as well as on social media. This event could not be possible without incredible volunteers and staff team who give their very best to support the delivery of our event each year. We hope you will treat them with the utmost respect they deserve.
